2nd Session

This second session I am posting is a dear friend of mine.  It was a wonderful day overall!  We got to go up to their family property in Northeastern Kansas.  It was much different than I was expecting.  I was thinking we would see fields of wheat rather than beautiful hills of color and trees.  I'm not really sure why I was mistaken...you'd think being from Western Missouri that I would know that the other side of the river (only by about 20 minutes) is not going to be drastically different.  For some reason, that's where my mind went.  ;)

November 2011

October flew by!  Overall, it was a pretty wonderful month.  Graham and I stayed pretty busy with life, work, and other things.  I don't know that we could have asked for a better October.  The sun was shining all month long, the temperatures were in the 60's and 70's every day it seemed, and the beauty of the Lord shown through in the amazing fall colors. You'll have to stick with me as I spend the next few days getting sessions posted (that are long over due). 

This first session I'm posting is of my sister's family.  We met early one Sunday morning and had a super quick shoot.  Towards the end of the shoot, we were able to capture her two daughters in the leaves.  One of the photos, you'll be able to easily see that "Z" had had enough...and that she did not want to wear the hat that was placed on her head.  In some way or another I was able to capture a mid-laugh/cry that I think turned out pretty cute...maybe my favorite of their session. :)

E's Maternity Photos

One of the most special times in life is spending time with two dear friends, in anticipation of a new little arrival.  Today, I got to spend time photographing E with a fellow shooter and dear friend B.  While it was only a couple hours, it was wonderful hanging out with them.  Here are a couple of my favorites from the day (there will be more, I promise).  :)

Old Faithful...at Night!

One night while staying near Old Faithful, Graham and I decided to take some night time photos.  We were hoping for a new moon (if you're interested in stars and what not, visit YNP when there's a new moon), but instead had somewhat of a quarter moon.  It was really peaceful at night without many people around. It got chillier as the night wore on and after about an hour and a half of standing outside, we called it a night (we moved quickly after shining a flashlight towards Old Faithful and seeing animal eyes staring back at us...didn't seem to be a small animal either).  Below is one of my favorite photos of Old Faithful.

Yellowstone!

On our way to Yellowstone!!  Getting closer to having the photos edited.  The top picture is somewhere in either Wyoming or Montana. The lower picture is in Lamar Valley (I believe) which is inside YNP. 

Wyoming!

Graham and I (and my parents) went on vacation out west...it was wonderful! Graham got to go to Wyoming and Montana for the first time. My dad humored us along the way by stopping to get pictures in front of the state signs (luckily, he never drove off without us, although I'm sure he thought about it).

We visited the Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Devil's Tower, Yellowstone, and Jackson Hole. While we were visiting Mt. Rushmore, they had anyone in the military come down to the stage as part of the lighting ceremony. The color guard was there and took down the flag. It was an honor to watch the ceremony and a greater honor to look down at my husband and be so proud of his service. Thank you to him and all who have served!
